China Company Search

Before you contract with, pay or supply a company in mainland China, you want to know that it exists, who owns and manages it, whether it is active and what the public record says about it. This report is prepared from the company's official Enterprise Credit Information Publicity Report, the record kept by the market supervision administrations of the People's Republic of China, and sets it out in English: an executive summary with key findings, the company profile, ownership and capital, management, registration history, operations and licences, public records and compliance, and the annual reports, followed by the original report in Chinese and its English translation. Delivered as a PDF by email and to your customer area in 1 business day.

What it confirms

The report confirms the registration of the company in the National Enterprise Credit Information Publicity System under its Unified Social Credit Code: name, type, status, legal representative, registered capital, establishment date, business term, registration authority and address; shareholders and contributions; directors, supervisors and managers; the changes recorded since incorporation; licences and permits; penalties, abnormal operations and serious violations on record; and the annual report figures, including employees and paid-in capital.

How we obtain and deliver it

After you pay by card through Stripe, we obtain the current Enterprise Credit Information Publicity Report of the company from the National Enterprise Credit Information Publicity System, translate its texts and prepare the report in English in the Dato Capital layout, with the original Chinese report and its translation bound at the end. The PDF is sent to your email and is available for download in the customer area, with delivery in 1 business day. If the company cannot be found under the name or code given, we ask you for more details before any work is done, and refund the order when it cannot be identified.

Who asks for it

Importers and exporters use it before a first order or an advance payment to a Chinese supplier or customer. Banks, payment institutions and compliance teams use it in know-your-customer checks on a Chinese counterparty. Lawyers and accountants use it in due diligence, disputes and debt recovery. Investors and foreign shareholders use it to confirm the registered position of a joint venture or subsidiary in China.

Validity, apostille and related documents

The report shows the register's record on the day it is obtained, which is printed on the original Chinese report. Registrations change: a company can change its legal representative, address or capital, or be listed as abnormal, at any time, so a counterparty check is normally repeated before a new contract or once a year. The report carries a Dato Capital verification code.

What the China Company Search is

Every company registered in mainland China has an Enterprise Credit Information Publicity Report in the National Enterprise Credit Information Publicity System, the public register run by the State Administration for Market Regulation and the provincial market supervision administrations. The report is in Chinese and is organised in the register's own sections. This product obtains the current report for the company you choose, identified by its Unified Social Credit Code or its registered name, and prepares a full report in English from it, in the Dato Capital report layout.

What the report contains

An executive summary with a table of key facts and the key findings; the company profile; ownership and capital, with the shareholders and their subscribed and paid-in contributions; the management; the registration history, with every change the register recorded, such as capital increases, a new legal representative or a change of address; operations and licences; the public records of compliance, including administrative penalties, the list of abnormal operations and serious violations; and the annual reports the company has filed, with the number of employees insured and the capital paid. The original report in Chinese and its English translation are bound at the end, so the reader can check every figure against the source.

What the report does not contain

Financial statements are not public in the Chinese register for most companies; the annual reports give a limited set of figures and the company may choose not to publish them. Court cases, trademarks and tax records come from other registers and are not part of this report. The report is not a credit rating or an opinion on solvency.

How the company is identified

Give us the company's Chinese name or its Unified Social Credit Code, the 18-character code printed on its business licence and invoices. A name in English is usually a translation and may not be unique; where only an English name is known, we search the register for the matching Chinese name and confirm it with you before the report is prepared.
